A date can look auspicious in a general calendar and still conflict with one of you.
A general almanac answers “Is this day suitable for marriage?” BaZi Days adds a second question: “Does it also clear the published rules for both partners?”

Illustrative Result
A recommendation you can audit—not just accept.
Each result tells you its calendar category, whether it cleared every hard exclusion, and which personal branch interactions changed its position within that category.
Plain-English reasons come first, with the Chinese terms retained where they help verify the traditional rule.
Context-only indicators are explicitly separated from the rules that actually affect the category or score.

The comparison index ranks dates inside the same category under the published rules. It is not a probability, scientific measurement, or guarantee of marriage success.
Transparent by design

Frequently asked questions
What is BaZi?
BaZi (八字), or the Four Pillars, is a traditional Chinese metaphysical system that represents the Year, Month, Day, and Hour of birth with Heavenly Stems and Earthly Branches. BaZi Days uses a limited set of documented branch interactions for wedding-date screening; it does not perform a complete life reading.
Do I need to know my birth time?
No. If you provide the recorded birth time, the Hour Pillar is included. If not, BaZi Days uses the Year, Month, and Day pillars without inventing a default time or applying a missing-data penalty. The current ruleset uses the local civil time entered and does not apply true-solar-time or location correction.
Why are both birth dates needed?
A general almanac can mark a date suitable for marriage without knowing the couple. BaZi Days checks that candidate Day Branch against both partners' profiles, so a direct clash with either partner's Day or Year Branch removes the date before ranking.
What exactly counts as a recommended date?
A recommended date must satisfy two conditions: its almanac explicitly lists marriage as suitable (宜嫁娶), and it passes every personal and calendar hard exclusion in the current ruleset. A date that merely has no prohibition is shown separately as a neutral alternative.
How is the rule-based match index calculated?
Only eligible dates receive an index. It combines the couple's Personal Compatibility score (60%) with its Traditional Calendar value (40%). Recommended dates and neutral alternatives are ranked separately, so a neutral date cannot outrank an explicitly recommended date. The full point table and tie rules are published on the Methodology page.
Why might BaZi Days disagree with another website or practitioner?
Date-selection systems can use different almanac data, schools, time conventions, family-member checks, favorable-element analysis, and ceremony-hour rules. BaZi Days publishes what it currently uses and what it omits, so a difference can be examined instead of hidden behind a single “lucky” label.
Is BaZi Days scientifically proven to predict marriage outcomes?
No. BaZi date selection is a traditional cultural practice, not a scientific method. The index makes the current rules reproducible and comparable; it does not measure the probability of marriage success or guarantee an outcome.
Do I need an account?
No. The calculator runs in your browser without registration. Your entered birth details are not sent to BaZi Days or saved by the calculator.
