The short answer
An almanac result describes the day in general. Personalized screening adds the couple: it checks the candidate date against both partners’ available BaZi data and practical date window. Neither layer guarantees an outcome.
What 宜嫁娶 means
宜嫁娶 means that marriage is listed among the activities traditionally considered suitable for that day. It is a day-level calendar classification, not a statement that the date is ideal for every couple.
A proper interface should also distinguish 忌嫁娶, where marriage is explicitly avoided, from a neutral day where marriage is neither recommended nor prohibited. Treating every non-prohibited date as “lucky” exaggerates what the source says.
What personalized screening adds
Personal screening compares the candidate Day Branch with the available branches in both partners’ birth profiles. Under the published BaZi Days rules, a direct clash with either partner’s Day or Year Branch can remove a date before ranking.
Supportive relationships can adjust the personal comparison score for dates that survive. They do not override a hard exclusion or turn a neutral almanac day into an explicitly recommended one.
Why one universal “best date” list is incomplete
A yearly list can answer which dates a chosen almanac marks suitable for marriage. It cannot know the couple’s birth data, venue schedule, travel constraints, family availability, or blocked dates.
That does not make general lists useless. They are a first layer. The problem begins when the list is presented as personalized or guaranteed without collecting and applying the information that would make it personal.
How BaZi Days keeps the layers separate
The calculator applies practical availability, personal and calendar exclusions, calendar category, and within-category ranking in that order. Each result shows why it qualified or was removed.
Recommended means the almanac explicitly supports marriage and the date clears the current exclusions. Neutral alternative means it clears the exclusions but lacks an explicit 宜嫁娶 endorsement. Excluded dates remain visible with reasons where practical.
Which result should a couple use?
Use the category before the number. Compare recommended dates against venue, family, travel, legal, health, and budget needs. If only neutral alternatives fit, the tool should describe them honestly instead of forcing a “lucky” label.
The final choice belongs to the couple. A rule-based date tool is a cultural reference and planning aid—not evidence that one wedding will succeed or fail.
